A Buckhead MARTA train station in Atlanta, Georgia is being evacuated due to a suspicious package.  More information as story develops

MARTA spokeswoman Andrea Coleman said the package was discovered shortly after 11 a.m. outside the station.

The package was determined not to be a threat, and the station reopened about noon, Coleman said.

ATLANTA – The MARTA Buckhead station is shutdown due to a suspicious package, said MARTA officials Tuesday.

MARTA spokesperson Andrea Coleman said the package was not on the rail nor was it in the station.

A bus bridge has been established between the Lindbergh, Buckhead and Medical Center rail stations to transport passengers.

 

The MARTA Police Department is investigating.

ATLANTA — Atlanta police and Atlanta fire officials were called to a report of a suspicious package near the 3300 block of Peachtree Road in Buckhead Tuesday morning.Peachtree Road was closed in both directions in the area while officials investigated. There is no word on when the road will reopen.News Chopper 2 flew over the scene just after 11 a.m
